Before There Was Wind in the Sails
Founder Ben Souva wasn’t always running a maintenance service that had people from new cities asking him to bring Breasy to their metro area. In fact, he owned a landscaping business in Phoenix and he loved it many ways, but it was also really tough. With project and team management in the field, finding time to market the service wasn’t easy.
But he grew the company nonetheless, in large part by getting to know property managers in the area and providing them with the communication, timeliness, and quality work they desired.
And he had a thought…what if there were a better way?
The Right Model Could Make Maintenance a Breeze
Ben’s father had been a general contractor and he knew all kinds of small business owners via that relationship.
They were all hardworking and loved being their own boss, but struggled with feast or famine business cycles, in large part due to being to busy to acquire the next job.
Having been part of a tech startup before his landscaping business, he’d also seen all kinds of larger businesses and a few that he really admired.
Shipping companies Landstar, Schneider, and Knight/Swift had done this amazing job of being the connection between the best truck drivers around and companies who needed ultra-reliable shipping.
What if Ben could bring that model to property maintenance?


Present Day
As luck would have it Ben got to know technologist David Kerns via a mutual friend, and what would eventually become Breasy became a topic of conversation at a mutual friends birthday trip.
David immediately saw the potential of developing a frictionless platform to make the whole ecosystem a breeze.
Property manager could submit work orders from their platform of choice to Breasy and get a quote back within 24 hours and quick turnaround of everything approved.
Breasy team members would get a steady flow of scheduled jobs that made sense for their schedule and be able to string them together in an efficient way that allowed them to quickly grow their revenue.
Everybody started winning including tenants and property investors…and word got out quickly leading Breasy to launch in over 12 major metros across 7 states within its first 2 years of existence attracting the best maintenance pros and top property managers who wanted to put their maintenance challenges behind them permanently.

After scaling his first landscaping business to millions in annual revenue, he launched Breasy to bring data, speed, and transparency to single-family rental maintenance nationwide. Ben oversees growth as Breasy expands across 12+ U.S. markets.

David Kerns | Co-Founder
David drives Breasy’s operations, technology, and automation strategy. He’s built the backbone of Breasy’s fulfillment and data infrastructure. His focus on process, efficiency, and automation allows Breasy team to spend more time on human interactions and less on pressing buttons.
